Kokrajhar Civil Hospital in dire state

Kokrajhar RNB Civil Hospital is now in dire state and turning to be a death trap for poor patients. Poor administration of the premier hospital has ruined the efforts of BTC which has been pumping money for upgradation of infrastructure. The Hospital has already acquired many latest equipments for treatment after the BTC spent lot of money for advanced technology. But most surprisingly, the high tech equipments like Ultra Sonography, ECG, X-ray machine, Laparoscopy machine etc. are not being used due to reason best known to the hospital administration. The poor patients have to depend on the private laboratories most of the time. Doctors directly ask the patients and attendant to take the patients to the private laboratory for blood test, X-ray and other diagnosis.

On the street while taking to patient in a private sonography centre, the attendant of patient Sirimuth Hasda of No. 2 Demdema, Kachugaon of Gossaigaon subdivision said they were asked to take the patient in the private sonography centre located outside the hospital saying that the sonography machine of the hospital does not show perfect result. He said the blood test was also done in the private laboratory where they had to spend a lot of money.

Ranjita Barsa of Joypur Bismuri, another patient attendant said they got only bed in the hospital but they have to purchase all the medicines from spefcific pharmacies  as directed by the doctor. He also said the hospital authority provides only a kind of saline after bed and all medicines are to be brought from outside. He further alleged that only money speaks in the hospital otherwise, the doctors show their reluctances.

Attendant of patient Sarat Brahma of Samaguri, Magurmari of Kokrajhar also said the doctor asked them to consult a specific private sonography centre saying that the sonography machine at hospital including X-ray were not in use.
