BTAD bandh paralyses normal life
Normal life was paralised today following 24 hours BTAD bandh in Kokrajhar, heart town of BTC administration, called by Janajati Suraksha Mancha and Royal Union of Koch Mech, demanding early eviction of non tribals, who are living illegally in tribal belt and blocks in the state.
The bandh was started from 5 am this morning and will continue till 5 am next morning.
All kinds of road transport communication, public busses including national highways remained deserted on the day, besides financial institutions like bank, bazaar, market, shop, private institutions remained closed during the bandh.
Most of the govt offices were also remained off.
The Kokrajhar district unit of All Assam Tribal Sangha has also extended their supports to the bandh and demanded early eviction of the illegally encroached in the tribal belt and blocks.
The Manch and Royal Union strongly urged the govt to take stern action and evict illegally encroached non tribals in the tribal belt and blocks that are creating resentment among indigenous and tribal peoples in the state.
