The state level horticulture mela cum exhibition drew tremendous response at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in West Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh. Sponsorship of the National Horticultural Mission in Gurgaon at Lopon Stadium at Dirang, the two says event concluded on Friday after a function attended by Union minister Khiren Rijiju, along with parliamentary secretary Phurpa Tsering, MLAs Japu Deru, West Kameng Deputy Commissioner AK Singh, Additional Deputy commissioner D.Riba and NHB Deputy Director RK Singh.
In his speech, Rijiju said Arunachal Pradesh with a geographical area of 83,743 sq.km. being the largest among the north eastern states of India and blessed by nature with unique gift of diverse agro-climatic conditions, vast bio-resources and zero polluted environment enabling to grow varieties of crops across the states.
Organizers told Assam Times that the mela cum exhibition was imperative to provide a platform for showcasing farm technologies that are location specific, simple, economically feasible, eco-friendly and easily adoptable by the farming community of the hilly region.
