A former MLA lands in trouble for alleged misappropriation for fund meant for the development of his local area.
He is none other than Pranab Kalita against whom the Kamrup (Rrural) district administration has filed a case alleging sheer misappropriation for the fund.
Initially, acting on the allegations of gross misappropriation of the funds during his stint as MLA in Palasbari assembly constituency, Deputy Commissioner asked the circle officer to institute an enquiry. The Deputy Commissioner is understood to have filed the case on the basis of the disclosure suggesting gross misappropriation of the fund.
