IITian found dead

A B Tech student is believed to have committed suicide in the morning leaving the Guwahati IIT in utter shocked on Friday.
Identified as Ujjal Salil, the body of student from Bihar was found at the campus early in the morning. The inmate of the Brahmaputra Hostel was suspected to have jumped to the ground.

Police recovered the body and investigation is going on. This is the third such tragic incident at the country’s premier seat of science and technology in Guwahati during the last 12 months.

Last year in the same month i.e. on 14/09/2014 our son Tushar Yadav was also found dead behind his room in Kameng Hostel, before we reached there from Delhi IIT Guwahati declared it as suicide. Same thing happened in today"s case.  After our strong oppose case of conspiracy and murder was registered since then Police and IIT Guwahatidid nothing at yet, we at our level providing evidences, activities of suspects but all in vain. You the media also continuously describing as suicide why? On that day you the media failed to did your duty to find out facts then wrote such thing. If you did that in so hurry then why not you published the story of conspiracy and murder. This IIT has continue taking life of young engineers no media no ngo no political system no UGC no NHRC no Court take notice of it. We the grieved parents of Tushar can understand the loss that the family of Ujjal Shailabh have to bear through whole life, what else we can say   Narender Singh ( Gurgaon)

Manipur police seized 300 SP capsules and 11 boxes of N 10 tablets from two individuals on April 16 at around 8 p.m. by Singjamei police , Imphal west from an autorickshaw in which they were travelling, police said today. Assam goes to repolling in thee assembly constituencies.Polling began at 6 booths from 8 in the morning on Monday in Bhawanipur, Rongia and Udalguri districts. Assamtime poll squad covering these booths see brisk polling where voters remaining lined up to cast their votes. The Election Commission has ordered repolling in these booths in view of major anomalies on April 11. The counting would take place on May 13.
Atleast 7 personnel of Manipur Rifles were killed and other 5 wounded on Friday when heavily armed insurgents suspected to be cadres of the NSCN(IM) ambused a convoy of Phungyar MLA Wunaoshang Keishing. MLA Keishing escaped the attack unhurt. The heavily armed insurgents opened fire on the MLA and his convoy while on there way at Rihang, Ukhrul district, Manipur. The MLA visited Phungyar district to participate at a function. The personnel who were killed in the attack include a post commander and a driver and the convoy belonged to 1st and 6th Manipur Rifles, according to police sources.

An RTI activist has revealed misuse of OBC certificates by sons and daughters of some high-ranking Government officials just to sneak into the state Home Department. Laishram Sanatombi of Yairipok Bishnunaha, Imphal East sought certain information through RTI from the state Home Deparment and the Imphal West Deputy Commissioner on the DPC held last year for recruitment of 72 women SI’s. Once again Ulfa springs surprise. In a significant move that gives Congress some sort of relief, the banned outfit has decided not to give bandh call to disrupt the visitofprime minister Manmohan Singh slated for April 7. This was what Ulfa publicity wing leader Arunodoy Dohotiya announced at a statement e-mailed to assamtimes on Tuesday. The announcement further suggests that ULFA will not oppose the visit of Dr Singh on April 11 to cast his vote in Dispur. It may be recalled that for the first time Ulfa has not urged the people not to participate in the poll process.
