Golaghat Press Club office inaugurated
The permanent office of Golaghat Press Club was formally inaugrated at VIP Road, Golaghat on Wednesday. The Chief Adviser of Golaghat Press Club Dwipen Dutta, President Apurba Ballav Goswami along with other members of of the organisation were present in the ceremony. Traditional Naam Prasanga and several other events were held on this occasion.

The Golaghat police have arrested two persons in connection with a murder case in Numaligrh on Thursday. The incident took place on September 19 where a Muslim cleric went missing and his body was recovered at a drain in Numaligarh Tea Estate two days later.Acting on a tip off, police on Thursday nabbed the duo identified as Swapan Suri and Drup Munda of Behora Tea Estate. Drup confessed to have committed the crime with the help of his friend Swapan Suri.

Talking to Assam Times, the organization’s general secretary Sanjib Handique said that two days event is slated to take place at the local swimming pool in Golaghat. The Golaghat district administration on Tuesday asked the tea garden managements to clear the bonus to the workers by October 5. Deputy Commissioner Anarul Haque on Tuesday issued the order after a meeting with the various tea group owners.
