BTC-Army goodwill league from Sept 27

Preparations are going on in full swing to organise first time ever in BTC region which would be beginning from September 27 involving four districts of the council. 

Speaking the reporters today at a  joint press meet held at BTC Secretariat conference hall SM Ismail, Brigadier of the Army and BTC executive member for sports & youth welfare department Doneswar Goyary said that the football premier league 2015 will begin on September 27 at two fields in Kokrajhar and Udalguri district involving respective district sports official and association.

Ismail said thst the football premier league has been organising to tap the unexplored potential of the youth in BTAD as also to promote unity and spread goodwill among the peoples. 

'The event is intended to showcase sporting talent in the region and inspire youth to pursue sports. Scouts from various league clubs are expected to attend the event to identify the budding talent and guide players on the way ahead.The event will provide a platform for people from all sections of society to come together for a common passion, thereby enhancing the spirit of unity while promoting peaceful in the region', Ismail added.  

Goyary said that BTC administration and Army have for the first time joined hands to provide a common platform for unleashing the passion of youth in the four districts in the council to demonstrate their talent in the most popular football sport in the area.He said thathere are ten clubs one each from ten subdivisions of the four districts are participating in the league and final match would be played on October 18 at SAI ground  in Kokrajhar. 

The winning team would be awarded a trophy and cadh two lakh and runner up be given away a trophy and cash one lakh in the final match.

Organizing such tournament is good for society. But it is very unfortunate to organized this tournament untill and unless a pregnant woman who was gang raped by two Indian Army personals get justice and culprits are punish. Its very confusing . . . .

Leading parties and organizations in Kokrajhar have vehemently opposed Ranjan Daimary’s arrest in the run up to the tripartite peace talks.Addressing a joint press conference of the four organisations held at PWD Guest House on Wednesday, ABWWF president Mithinga Basumatary along with Bodo Writers Academy vice president Rajen Basumatary, Bodo Harimu Afad Billa Kumar Brahma and Boro Somaj president Rajendra Nath Boro said that the rearrest of the NDFB chief on September 29 would put the peace process in peril.They demanded immediate and unconditional release of Daimary before holding peace talks with the outfit. They further urged NDFB(Songbijit faction) to come forward for peace negotiation.

Security forces in Chirang arrested yet another NDFB(Songbijit) cadre from  Runikata Tinali on Tuesday a day after four cadres of this outfit were killed at an encounter.Identified as Simang Basumatary(Tobra) of Runikata Tinali under Runikata police station, he was arrested in the morning. Police seized a 7.65 pistol, two live bullets from his possession.
Kokrajhar police are believed to have received stunning revelations on an arms smuggling racket in BTAD after they arrested a person from Bimraguri on Monday night.But police officials are tightlipped on the revelations. Identified as Satilal Brahma, he was picked up near Patgaon. A 9 mm pistol along with a magzine, three bullets and three simcards and mobile handset were recovered from him. Interrogation is going on.    
Kokrajhar is all set to welcome Ranjan Daimary on Sunday. Amaren Narzary (42), Chairman of Mahendrapur VCDC under Debargaon constituency in BTAD village was died on the spot at a road mishap on Thursday at Goskata in Kokrajhar.Narzary hailing from Gyanpuri Jharbari village was coming from Dotma via Goskata when he met head on collision with a Tata Sumo car. He leaves two sons and his wife. Debargaon block BPF and several organisations expressed deep mourn over his death.
The vice of protest against the arrest of Jaiklong Brahma refuses to die down.Hundreds of media people in Baksa district staged protest at Mushalpur on Wednesday demanding early release of the journalist alleging it an attack on the fourth pillar of democracy.Jointly organised by Baksa district All Assam Jouranlist Union,Juornalist Union of Assam, Bartajibi Sangha and Bodoland Journalist Union, the protest was joined by the All Bodo Students Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Assam Sahitya Sabha, AASU and ABWWF.
