An alleged anomaly in the distribution of PDS goods causes no less concern among the dealers in the Fakiragram Samabay Samiti. The allegation comes from the Fair Price Shop Dealers & Agents Association.
They accused the chairman and the secretary of Fakiragram Samabay Samiti Limited(FSSL) of resorting to unfair means in the distribution of PDS good among the dealers under the various schemes.
Talking to Assam Times, the association members alleged that the officials of the cooperative body have been taking extra charge and rates from the dealers while allotting rice, kerosene. According to them, the local cooperative body draws 16,900 liters of kerosene against every allotment for 49 dealers.
But they only distribute 15,700 liters. Apart from that, they said, the cooperative body has been running without capital investment due to lost of profits.
