NDFB observed Raising Day

The National Democratic Front of Boroland observed its 28th Raising Day with daylong programme at various places across the state on Friday.

The NDFB(Progressive) observed the day at four different venues in the state including Serfanguri Kumguri designated camp in Kokrajhar,Barbari Medaghat in Baksa,Udalguri and Sonitpur district.

B Jaiklong,vice-president of the militant outfit hoisted organisational flag on the day at the function of Serfanguri.

An open session was held on the occasion with B Benga, speaker of the outfit in the chair.

Jiron Basumatary, vice president of ABSU,B Swmkwr,Genral Secretary of NDFB(P),Rabiram Narzary,President BPPF graced the function as guests.

The Ranjan Daimary faction of the NDFB observed the day at Sobaijhar Bijni in Chirang district. The NDFB was founded to fight for Boroland on October 3rd, 1986 and has been fighting for the last 28 years. It’s the first Raising Day celebration after signing SoO agreement on November 29, 2013. So the 28 anniversary of NDFB is dedicated to peace and talks. NDFB hopefully anticipate that the new government of India at the centre will never procrastinate but resolve the issue of the Boro people for permanent peace and development.

NDFB is very much disappointed with re-arrest of its founding President D R Nabla on September 29, 2014 becouse formal political talks was about to be started soon. It’s nothing but a malicious and poisonous conspiracy of state government to derail peace process including formal political talks. NDFB appeals to the government for D R Nabla’s immediate unconditional release and all the Boro people to stand united for the sake of Boroland, B Naijab, secretary for information and publicity of the outfit said.
