Chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday made it plain and simple that his government wants 2014 voter list as one of the supportive documents to update the national registrar of citizens.

Responding to the legislators who asked him to clear his position, Gogoi said that the list would be required if the documents earlier announced by the Supreme Court are not available for an indigenous citizen.

He said that his government has already moved the Supreme Court for consideration which has not so far rejected the affidavit.

Mr. Tarun Gogoi is going mad because the assembly election of Assam is approaching. He is such a person who knows only vote bank politics. He is a useless Chief Minister of Assam who has no interest to protect the indigenous communities of Assam rather he is ready to protect the illegal Bangladeshis who entered illegally to our land. The vote bank politics of Congress in Assam will lead our state to be part of Bangladesh. Tarun Gogoi will sell Assam to Bangladesh and he along with his family will settlen down in London.

CBI raids Focus NE office

A CBI team probing the multi crore Sharada scam raided a private satellite news channel in Guwahati on Thursday. CBI sleuths arrived in the Focus NE office premises in the afternoon and conducted the raid in connection with the multi crore scam. It was alleged that former Union minister Matang Sinh who owns the news channel cheated the Sharada chairman Sudipta Sen. BJP workers seize Nagaland vehicle

BJP workers in Uriamghat seized a vehicle belonging to a top NSCN-IM militant in full view of a CRPF patrolling party on Thursday. The Maruti WagneR bearing No NL 07C 6233 was seized by a group of BJP workers from Chetiagaon at around 2 in the afternoon. Talking to Assam Times, a BJP worker who took the lead to intercept the vehicle said that they came to see the car plying in the troubled –hit area at noon and that as they moved towards the vehicle, three persons managed to escape leaving the car on the road. Some arms have been recovered from the vehicle in question which was later handed over to police. Investigation is going on.

The Assam government blames it all on the NSCN (IM) escalating tension along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district. Massive waterlogging in Guwahati

 Massive waterlogging disrupts normal life in Guwahati again on Thursday following the incessant rains that lashed the city in the wee hours. Rainwaters have submerged Lachitnagar, Chandmari, Anil Nagar, Nabin nagar, Bhangararh, Christianbast, Dispur early in the morning. More central forces to Uriam Ghat

The Centre has assured Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi of more security forces to contain the burning situation along the Assam-Nagaland border a day after the Naga miscreants killed two local people in Uriam ghat in Golaghat district. Gogoi got the assurance when he talked to Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday morning.    The armed miscreants on the Nagaland side opened fire on a group of agitators demanding release of two school students suspected to have been abducted by a Naga insurgent group.
