The wreckage of the Pawan Hans helicopter Tirap Deputy Commissioner Kamalesh Joshi was found at a remote area of Arunachal Pradesh where it crash landed on Tuesday.
The rescue operation made with three choppers along with a Sukhoi Jet locate the wreckage at Thinsa in the wee hours tracing a phone calls from Joshi to his wife at 2-10 in the afternoon. Senior officials arrived in the crash site and recovered the decomposed bodies in the morning.
The chopper went missing on Tuesday on its way to Khunsa from Longding. The last contact was established at 11-30 with Mohanbari airport. Initially, the search operation was concentrated at an area near Dalom where a section of local residents claimed to have heard the sound of a huge explosion in the sky.
But rescuers failed to trace it even after deployment of a Sukhoi Jet along with three other helicopters during the last six days.

Launching a search operation today, the rhino carcass was recovered with its horn sawed away and empty cartridges of AK 47 and .303 rifles scattered near it. The Park and Forest Department officials suspect that poachers, helped by agents living near KNP, drive adult rhinos towards Buraphar and Bagori ranges to kill them.

Yet another incident of suicide rocked Guwahati on Wednesday. It took place in Christanbasti. Identified as Jintu Phukan, the youth who worked with a shop in Fancy Bazar area hanged himself inside his rent room.

Garo National Liberation Army militants killed three people including a women along the Assam-Meghalaya border on Tuesday.The incident occurred when a group of five armed militants stormed the Garodoba village in southwest Garo Hills district bordering Assam and shot dead 32-year-old Sridina A. Five minor boys have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a 12-year-old at Guwahati. The incident took place at Hatigaon area in the city on Sunday.The girl was gang-raped near her home on at night in the absence of her mother who was a daily wage earner. The five boys aged between 12 to 16 years allegedly called her outside the house. Her mother lodged the FIR at the Basistha police station. All the five boys have been taken into custody. They would be produced in the Juvenile Court here on Wednesday. After medical examination, she was sent to the State Home for Women for her rehabilitation.
