Road mishap: 5 killed

At least five persons were killed when a vehicle carrying them to Manipur met with a tragic mishap at the National Highway 31 in Kamrup district on Saturday. The mishap took place near Baihata Chariali at around 4-30 in the morning. Altogether 15 people were travelling from Siliguri to Manipur and as the vehicle reached Kalajal, it rammed into a bridge leaving 5 passengers dead on the spit. Ten others including a minor boy have been injured to be rushed to the hospital. Local residents blamed it all on the repairing works of the highway which puts the drivers in utter confusion.
