Farewell to Kalam

Amid a pall of gloom the lifeless Kalam was flown to New Dellhi on Tuesday morning a day after the former President died a sudden death in Shillong.

Before being air dashed to Guwahati, Meghalaya Governor V. Shanmughanathan, Home Minister Roshan Warjri, Assembly Speaker Abu Taher Mondal and Director General of Civil Defence and Home Guards R.K. Sharma accompanied paid last respect to the noted scientist in Shillong.

He collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong on Monday. Later he passed away at the Bethany Hospital.

President’s convoy runs over pedestrian

Bokakhat: A 60 year old daily wage earner died when he was hit by a car attached to a convoy of Ramnath Kovind as the President was on his way to Kaziranga National Park on Saturday. Fellowship on Climate Change
