GUWAHATI: In a strange revelation two persons arrested a couple of days back in the outskirt of Guwahati confessed to have been trying to eliminate Himanta Biswa Sarma for ₹5 crore.
The revelation surfaced on Friday only when police produced the duo before s local court which remanded them to judicial custody.
The duo believed to have been planning to kill the powerful minister exploding a powerful bomb for which the would have received ₹5 crore.
It was learnt that mobile phone call list suggested their contacts with top Congress leaders Ripun Bora, Tarun Gogoi and Rockybul Hussain.
The police who picked up them from Jalukbari a couple of days back produced them in court only on Friday seeking them in police custody. But the court sent them to jail.
Congress leaders along with other political parties and organizations have demanded a thorough probe to ascertain the truth.
