At least ten people sustained injury when security forces sprang upon a group of people who hit the streets in Tinsukia district in protest against ULFA’s attack on a businessman on Wednesday.
Local residents in large number blocked the road in Bijuliban area demanding safety and security of the people alleging that the government has been failing to protect the lives and property of the common people.
They further demanded strict action against the culprits involved in the Wednesday’s incident where gunmen shot dead businessman Nandalal Shah and his daughter.
Despite repeated requests, the people refused to clear the road forcing the policemen to resort to lathi charge to disperse the protestors.
