BJP president is on stock taking visit to Guwahati nine months ahead of the assembly polls.
Immediately after landing at the Borjhar airport, he along with 10 other top leaders straightly arrived at the Machkhowa ITA to address the convention of the party’s north eastern leaders.
Later in the day he would met the state leadership to take stock of the state’s pre poll political landscape.

Wrong News. After landing at Borjhar LGBI Airport, he went to Hotel Rituraj where he conducted a personal meeting for more than one hour and then around 12:10 proceeded to ITA Machkhowa from where he left for Delhi.

Delhi police have detained at least 25 north eastern students when they staged dharna in Vijoy Chowk demanding justice for the Nido Tania, who was killed by goons in Lajpotnagar. The Supreme Court has directed the eight north eastern states to formulate common rules to deal with the cases of racial attack outside the region.Hearing a public interest litigation on Friday, a division bench of the apex court comprising chief justice of India and Justice Ranjan Gogoi asked the north eastern state governments to submit the rules to stop racial attack by the next 7 months.The PIL was filed in view of the growing cases of racial attack on the north eastern people in New Delhi along with some other states. DoNER minister Pawan Singh seemingly is waging war against Ranne Narah after she revealed that Ghatowar paid BJP leader Sarbananda Sonowal Rs 4 crore four months back.Narah said that apart from Sonowal, Ghatowar further paid Rs 1.50 crore to BJP MLA Prasanta Phukan for helping the ruling party candidates win the Rajya Sabha polls.Ghatowar told reporters in Delhi that he would lodge a complaint before the party high command against Ranee Narah.
