Summer school tourney ends
Govt Higher Secondary & Multi Purpose school, Kokrajhar defeated Ramfalbil Higher Secondary school by one goal in the final match of Under-14 (Boys football) of district level summer school tournament at SAI centre ground in Kokrajhar on Sunday.
Birkang Boro of Govt HS & MP school scored lone goal against Ramfalbil in 23 minutes in first half. It led the team to win the district level tournament. Birkang Boro of Govt HS MP school was awarded best player.
Organised by the district sports office in Kokrajhar, the event was joined by 11 schools.
BTC education director Rabisangkhor Borgoyari graced as chief guest and handed over the championship trophy to the winner teams. Kokrajhar DSO J Basumatary gave away the runners up trophies.
In Under-16, football tournament (Boys), Gossaigaon Saint Antony school defeated Uma and a High school in 1-0 goal in the final match.
Tongram Surjyakanta Singh of Saint Antony scored lone goal against Umananda in 30 minutes of the first half and won the match.
In Kabadi (Under-14 girls), Gaurang High school beat Patakata High school by 38-35 points in the final match.Ramaina Narzary of Gaurang was awarded best player in the tournament.

The All Bodo Students Union and All Assam Students Union strongly slammed the answer script of HSLC examination gutted fire in Jorhat on Friday. Lawrence Islary, general secretary of ABSU condemned the answer script paper gutted in fire was unfortunate and unwanted for the state. He has accused of that SEBA as well as government totally failed to safe and security of the answer script in the state. He has demanded involved culprit should be nabbed and punished.
Students activists from All BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation show their protest and burnt effigy of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in protest against his recent derogatory remakrs on Hindu Bengali community in the state. The Salakkati anchalik committee of students federation shouted slogans against Gogoi and burnt his effigy along the Salkati bazar road in Kokrajhar today and demanded eraly apolozize to the remarks. A self styled deputy commander in chief of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) was killed in an encounter with security forces at Shiljan area in Kokrajhar district today. He was identified as Dibakar Barman alias Anupal. A pistol, two grenades and live ammunition were recovered from him. He was Myanmar military trained leader of the militant outfit organization.
