AASU fets students

The All Assam Students Union ( AASU) felicitated the distinction passed out students in the HSLC'2015 examination at a function held at Science College auditorium today in Kokrajhar. 

 A total of 46 students from Kokrajhar district who were passed in first division with distinction, each was felicitated with traditional Phulam Gamocha, citation and gifts, was organised by Kokrajhar district unit of AASU. 

Dipanko Kumar Nath, president of the AASU graced as chief guest and felicitated passed out students. 

Nath in his speech said that the students union was working for the welfare of the students community in the state. He has urged students community to be more dedicated and bring glorious to the state. 

Among others, Madhav Prasad Sharma, DC Kokrajhar, Jayanta Basumatary, Absu leader were also on the occasion.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
