Gold medalist Laimwn Narzary feted
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borogoyary and wel wishers accorded warm welcome and felicitated Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist in the World School Athletics Championship recently held in Wuhan, PR in China at a function held at SAI centre in Saturday in Kokrajhar.
Narzary played in the event of High Jump under 18 years Boys and Girls category of the championship and scripted gold medal for India as well as BTC of Assam state.
BTC sports and youth welfare department organised a felicitation function to Laimwn Narzary.
Borogoyary, sports organiser association and villagers from native village of Langdangpara of Fakiragram felicitated with bunch of flower, traditional Aronai and gifts in the presence of sports fans and publics.
BTC sports and youth welfare department announced gold medalist Laimwn Narzary as Bodoland Kungri(Bodoland Princess), who won gold in the event of High Jump in the ISF-World School Athletics Championship (under 18 years Boys & Girls) held at Wuhan PR in China from June 27 to July 2,2015.
Borogoyary urged the sports budding to be more dedicated in the sports field.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary has announced cash 2 lakh as cash award from council administration winning gold medal and glorious step in the region performing best spirits in the sports. The council will confer the cash award on August 15 next, Goyary added.
Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist said that she had dreamt to play international game in future. She said she would stress to gain more gold medals in life.

Security forces in Chirang arrested yet another NDFB(Songbijit) cadre from Runikata Tinali on Tuesday a day after four cadres of this outfit were killed at an encounter.Identified as Simang Basumatary(Tobra) of Runikata Tinali under Runikata police station, he was arrested in the morning. Amaren Narzary (42), Chairman of Mahendrapur VCDC under Debargaon constituency in BTAD village was died on the spot at a road mishap on Thursday at Goskata in Kokrajhar.Narzary hailing from Gyanpuri Jharbari village was coming from Dotma via Goskata when he met head on collision with a Tata Sumo car. He leaves two sons and his wife. Debargaon block BPF and several organisations expressed deep mourn over his death.

Gopal Chandra Basumatary is no more. The president of All BTAD Gaonburah Association breathed his last at his resident Kashibari in Kokrajhar on Saturday. He was 68. He is survived by his wife, son and daughters. The BTAD administration observed half holiday in four districts following death of Gopal Chandra Basumatary. At least three persons sustained serious injuries when a Bolero and Tata Sumo collided head on at Balajan Tiniali near CIT campus in Kokrajhar Friday. An unregistered Bolero used by army jawans located at Patarghat came face to face with a Tata Sumo bearing registration number AS 16 9849 when it was on its way to deliver Sal logs to the CIT Kokrajhar campus along with two labourers. Police rushed to the spot and seized the Tata Sumo along with illegal Sal logs. The driver however absconded after the accident. Family members of arrested television journalist Jaiklong Brahma alleged that police has not yet made medical care available to him. His wife Citra Brahma claimed that her husband suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes. "He is bereft of medical attention. More so, he is held up in an unhygienic lockup," she said. She demanded medical facility for Brahma and that he be kept in a suitable room. Citra Friday filed a petition seeking immediate medical facility and health care. Kokrajhar correspondent for News Live, Brahma was arrested on September 2 under suspicion of aiding the banned NDFB (S). He is presently under five days police remand.
