3 injured in road mishap

At least three persons sustained serious injuries when a Bolero and Tata Sumo collided head on at Balajan Tiniali near CIT campus in Kokrajhar Friday.

An unregistered Bolero used by army jawans located at Patarghat came face to face with a Tata Sumo bearing registration number AS 16 9849 when it was on its way to deliver Sal logs to the CIT Kokrajhar campus along with two labourers.

Police rushed to the spot and seized the Tata Sumo along with illegal Sal logs. The driver however absconded after the accident.

The three persons including the driver of the Bolero were identified as Sutendra Goyary and Amash Basumatary, both are labourers at the CIT campus, while the driver is yet to be identified. All were admitted at the Kokrajhar Rup Nath Brahma Civil hospital.

Traffic police officer, B N Choudhury said that the accident was a serious one since both vehicle suffered damages. He confirmed that the Tata Sumo was carrying illegal Sal logs and that the driver along with the timber.

NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. BPF leaves three more seats to BJP

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
