Gold medalist Laimwn Narzary feted
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borogoyary and wel wishers accorded warm welcome and felicitated Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist in the World School Athletics Championship recently held in Wuhan, PR in China at a function held at SAI centre in Saturday in Kokrajhar.
Narzary played in the event of High Jump under 18 years Boys and Girls category of the championship and scripted gold medal for India as well as BTC of Assam state.
BTC sports and youth welfare department organised a felicitation function to Laimwn Narzary.
Borogoyary, sports organiser association and villagers from native village of Langdangpara of Fakiragram felicitated with bunch of flower, traditional Aronai and gifts in the presence of sports fans and publics.
BTC sports and youth welfare department announced gold medalist Laimwn Narzary as Bodoland Kungri(Bodoland Princess), who won gold in the event of High Jump in the ISF-World School Athletics Championship (under 18 years Boys & Girls) held at Wuhan PR in China from June 27 to July 2,2015.
Borogoyary urged the sports budding to be more dedicated in the sports field.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary has announced cash 2 lakh as cash award from council administration winning gold medal and glorious step in the region performing best spirits in the sports. The council will confer the cash award on August 15 next, Goyary added.
Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist said that she had dreamt to play international game in future. She said she would stress to gain more gold medals in life.

Despite tight security gun running refuses to die down in Kokrajhar district. Unidentified miscreant shot at yet another person in the district on Friday. The incident took place at Baldiabatan where miscreants shot at a daily wage earner in the afternoon.Identified as Prahald Sarkar, the deceased hailed from Galakganj of Dhubri district who was engaged at a construction site in Baldiabatan.A group of four miscreants started indiscriminate firing as he was standing on the road. Properties worth lakhs of rupees have been reduced to ashes when a tent house caught fire in Kokrajhar on Thursday.The incident took place at the Subashpally-based Subdev Tent House area at night. Fire tenders were pressed into service to bring the blaze under control. But by then, the fire has engulfed the entire house ravaging the properties worth several lakhs.Talking to Assam Times, police officials said that the reason was yet to be ascertain. One person died and atleast15 others have taken ill after they consumed food served at a wedding party in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.According to information, Sainudding Sheik from Bhawraguri Usatari village in Gossagaon along with around 20 other people started vomiting and complaint stomach ache hours after they consumed food at the wedding ceremony at Chitila Depdevi village near Fakiragram.Sheik died in the afternoon at the Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital a day after he was rushed to it. Sensation is simmering in Bijni town after suspected NDFB-S militants kidnapped a higher secondary student forcing the security forces to launch rescue operation in the area on two days back.Identified as Mantu Roy, the Class XII student went missing from the town on Friday after he left for the Lakhmi mela at Bijni.
