Gold medalist Laimwn Narzary feted
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borogoyary and wel wishers accorded warm welcome and felicitated Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist in the World School Athletics Championship recently held in Wuhan, PR in China at a function held at SAI centre in Saturday in Kokrajhar.
Narzary played in the event of High Jump under 18 years Boys and Girls category of the championship and scripted gold medal for India as well as BTC of Assam state.
BTC sports and youth welfare department organised a felicitation function to Laimwn Narzary.
Borogoyary, sports organiser association and villagers from native village of Langdangpara of Fakiragram felicitated with bunch of flower, traditional Aronai and gifts in the presence of sports fans and publics.
BTC sports and youth welfare department announced gold medalist Laimwn Narzary as Bodoland Kungri(Bodoland Princess), who won gold in the event of High Jump in the ISF-World School Athletics Championship (under 18 years Boys & Girls) held at Wuhan PR in China from June 27 to July 2,2015.
Borogoyary urged the sports budding to be more dedicated in the sports field.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary has announced cash 2 lakh as cash award from council administration winning gold medal and glorious step in the region performing best spirits in the sports. The council will confer the cash award on August 15 next, Goyary added.
Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist said that she had dreamt to play international game in future. She said she would stress to gain more gold medals in life.

Hundreds of employees of BTC temporary employees staged three dharna in front of DC office in Kokrajhar raising their demand and grievances on Friday. Their demands include steps to regularize their jobs and fresh appointment either fixed pay or regular in the council. A student of Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar identified as Jangila Basumatary, 25, died and a rider received injury early this morning at a road mishap in Kokrajhar town. Jangila was last year student of B Tech in CIT, Kokrajhar met a road mishap at Habrubari over bridge this morning around 4.30 am with his bike. Police arrested a hardcore NDFB-S militant from Kahurbaha in Baksa district on Wednesday. Identified as Maidee Basumatary, he was captured during an operation by a group of Tamulpur police early in the morning. Gossaigaon Salbagan FC beat City Police, Guwahati 2-0 on Monday's match of the Daoharu Mungklong Trophy being played at Dotma DASA ground in Kokrajhar. United Peoples Front (UPF) claimed on Monday that it would play a prominent role in the formation of the next government in Dispur. Talking to reporters after addressing a rally in Chirang, the working head of the newly floated party said UPF will contest in 35 seats.“I believe that our party will be showing good performance in the autonomous council areas. UPF is a common platform of the councils in the state,” said Dr Rongpi. He said he was confident UPF will win in all contested seats and play a key role in the formation of govt.
