Hundreds of BJP activists shouted slogans along with rally from district of the party and burnt effigy of Gogoi at main road along the JD Road,near Apex bank in Kokrajhar today,was organised by Kokrajhar district committee of BJP .

The BJP party has strongly the eying of Gogoi that the voter list of 2014 be involved in the updation of NRC.The slammed the Chief Minister Gogoi said that Gogoi is taking his political vested interest that is why he is stepping to include the voter list of 2014 so that all citizens of the state could be included in the NRC updating.

Sibnath Brahma,president of Kokrajhar  district committee of BJP told that remarks from Gogoi was not acceptable and he was spoking about party gain interest through NRC updation.He has demanded the NRC updation should be done through based year of 1971 and identify the illegal migrants from the state.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
