The overall flood scene seems to have improved on Sunday following the halt of rains that lashed parts of the state along with other neighbouring areas.
But the blue refuses to die down where over 2 lakh people hav been reeling under the surging waters of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries.
Official sources told Assam Times that the worst hit districts are Barpeta, Dhemaji, Tinsukia, Morigaon and Lakhimpur over 150 villages have come under the flood.
Barpeta district had the most persons hit by the flood at 10,000, followed by Morigaon with nearly 4,000 people.
Over 1,800 hectares of crop areas are under water currently.
