The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) has withdrew its scheduled 2-hour dharna programme to be held on June 18 in every district and sub-division offices on demand of Bodo form for NRC updating in the state on the basis of the information obtained from deputy commissioner(DC),Kokrajhar that government is going to publish and issue the NRC application forms in Bodo languages which is in process.
Speaking the reporters at Bodofa House today in Kokrajhar, Lawrence Islary,general secretary of the ABSU expressed its serious concern over the NRC Bodo application form issue and demanded early publication of application form in Bodo language and held proper implementation of the NRC updation.He said that the students union appeal the concern department and government authority to publish and circulated the Bodo forms in all the Bodo inhabited districts of Assam,so that they can fill up the forms in their own language properly.He has also appealed the NRC updating authority to keep hold of distribution of NRC application forms in Bodo inhabited districts unless the Bodo forms are made available.
