Stop harassment to Bengali Hindus

The All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation(ABBYSF) demands check on unreasonable harrasement to  Bengali Hindus in the name of NRC updation in Assam and the citizens should be given proper identification through the NRC process without any trouble.

In an exclusive interview with DY 365 on Tuesday in Kokrajhar, Montu Dey,president of the ABBYSF said that the students federation was in favour of NRC updation across the state and the process of the NRC updation should be completed through proper implementation and meet healthy integration in the region.

He has alleged that the implementation taken from government in connection with some official related to NRC update have been creating unreasonable harrasment and disturbance to the Hindu Bengalies of Assam on the showing of link documents during form fill up of the NRC copies as most of the Hindu Bengali citizens do not have documents.He has demanded that the NRC updated system to the Hindu Bengalies should be flexible and harassment to innocent people should immediately be stopped and run the NRC updation in healthy atmosphere in the state. Dey also demanding release of peoples who are still detention camp said atht during the process of NRC update the people kept in detention camps should be immediately released as they too citizens of India. By this release that the govt to amend the Constitution at the earliest to enroll all Hindu Bengalies of Assam as Indian citizens and also implement the commitment made by Congress and BJP parties during last year Lok Sabha election in an early date, otherwise a massive movement all over Assam would be launched.

The commitment was made by PM, Narendra Modi at Guwahati and Silchar during Lok Sabha election 2014 and the Assam govt cabinet decision regarding protection of all Hindu Bengalies of Assam should be implemented earliest.

He also told that the BTC Bengali Federation and All Assam BYSF jointly called a 12-hours Assam bandh tomorrow (June 17) beginning from 5 am in protest against unreasonable harrasement and disturbances to the Hindu Bengalies during the NRC updation across the state.

Dey informed that all kinds of emergency services like milk,ambulance,school buses would be exempted from purview of the bandh.

A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel.
