PCDR stages dharna against huge corruption in BTC

Thousands of supporters,activists and common publics participated in a three-hours protest demonstration,being organised by Peoples Coordination for Democratic Rights(PCDR),Kokrjahar district unit to fight against the corruption and fraudulent practices in VCDC level in the Rural Employment Guarantee Scghemes under MGNREGA and various departmental schemes and demanded   CBI or NIA investigation under anomalies of job card and employment benefit schemes.

The demonstrators with banner,placards observed dharna demonstration in front of DC office near DRDA complex in Kokrajhar today and shouted slogans demanding inquiry by CBI or NIA into huge corruption and arrests involved VCDC chairmen and involved bank and government officials.

The PCDC has alleged that BTC administration has corrupted all public funds means for the welfare of the common publics in the region since 2006 to till 2015.The PCDR has demanded investigation of CNI or NIA into huge annomalies in the VCDC level,arrests involved bank and govt officials who were involved with fraudulent.

Later,a memorandum was submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner demanding strict action aginst fraudulent in various schemes while implementing MGNREGA and employment guarantee schemes in the region.

The demands of the memorandum included investigation under central government authority by CBI or NIA on the fraudulent cases of job card and employment benefits scheme meant for publics, conduct a special investigation team(SIT) under supervision of sitting supreme court judge into corruption levelled in BTAD, investigate all departments in BTC where highly fraudulent and corrupt exists, punished all the individuals, officials and group involved such fraudulent activities, strengthen the grassroots democracy in VCDC level, arrests all former chairmen of VCDC, bank official, govt officials who were involved with fraudulent and cheating in BTAD. 

Jiran Basumatary,BTC MCLA and Urkhao Gwra Brahma, ex MP participating the dharna demanded the huge corruption in BTAD should be investigated and involved men be punnished.They also alleged that BTAD administration in its long year ruled corrupted all public wealth in the region.

 A link man of NDFB-Songbijit faction was arrested by security forces belonging to police and army from Saraibil under Gossaigaon police station on Thursday in Kokrajhar district.  Getting input about working of link man in the area, a joint team of security forces launched operation and managed to arrest the link man.
