Disaster Management department came in for sharp criticism on Monday when Assembly Speaker Pranab Kumar Gogoi was disappointed over alleged non implementation of a ruling of flood relief.An angry Gogoi said he would take the department to the privilege panel for alleged inaction over non-utilisation of a two-year old flood relief fund for Sonitpur district despite his earlier ruling.Gogoi told the House,”It is a breach of privilege and I will refer the matter to the Privilege Committee of the Assembly." The UNICEF is holding a brainstorming consultation in Guwahati on Monday to focus child rights to participate in media and communication apart from the decision making process and content development. The Assam based UNICEF Chief officer Tushar Rane opened the consultation outlining the role of the global agency in the innovation and implementation of sanitation and hygiene awareness in the schools. UNICEF’s Assam chapter chairperson Runumi Gogoi released the digital report of the World’s Children sharing her experience of working with children and students across the state. Distinguished personalities from media, health and education  fields also graced on the occasion.
