A mild earthquake create no less panic in the entire state when it was felt on Friday morning. The tremor was felt in Guwahati also at 5-24 in the wee hours where the denizens started coming down from the high rise buildings fearing collapse. According to the seismological survey centre at Shillong, measuring 4. 8 magnitude in Richter Scale, the tremor originated at latitude 27.0 degrees North and longitude 92.5 degrees East, in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The Centre has convened a crucial meeting of the north east MPs on December 19. Convened by Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region Dr Jitendra Singh in New Delhi, the meeting is expected to be attended by 39 MPs from the region.Dr Singh said has already sent individual letters to the MPs saying that he was looking forward to seek the cooperation and inputs from the MPs from the region for a smooth functioning of the DoNER Ministry.
