Mohilary takes oath as BTAD boss

Assam Chief Secretary Jitesh Kosla administered oath of office and secrecy to Hagrama Mohilary as chief of BTC and 13 others as executive members in the presence of Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya today at a glittering swearing in ceremony at Bodofa Nwgwr ground, near BTC Secretariat today in Kokrajhar. 

Mohilary took his oath of office and secrecy in English following Kampa Borgoyary as deputy chief  in English too.

Ansumwi Khunggur Boro, Deben Boro, Ganesh Kachary, Lwmsrao Daimary, Jagadish Sarkar, Bonjar Daimary, Alindra Kumar Moshahary, Shyam Sundi, Mrityunjoy Narzary, Rajib Brahma, Daneswar Goyary and Maheswar Basumatary take the oath as executive members.

The newly appointed deputy speaker of BTC Assembly Nerswn Boro was also administered the swearing-in.

All the newly elected members of BTC from different party and organisations were also present on the occasion which was attended by thousands of people from all walks of life.

Among those present includes chief executive member of Mising Autonomous Council Dr Ranoj Pegu, Commissioner WPT & BC Mukesh Chandra Sahu.

Mohilary, taking after oath of office as chief in BTC for third consecutive terms,who is also leader of BPF Legislature Party said that that priority would be given to solve the problems of various communities residing in the BTAD.

Mohilary thanks the public for giving the BPF party a mandate for the third time. He also urged the people, irrespective of caste, creed and community to give a helping hand in carrying out development activities and maintaining peace and harmony. 

Mohilary assured to work for the welfare of the people.He said that his council will take step to implementing all clauses of the historic Bodo accord that signed in 2003 which are not still implemented. He has also urged upon the state and the central government in proper implementation of the  Bodo accord in letter and spirit. He also call upon the government of Assam to allocate fund as per population pattern which is over 12 percent so that development works can be carried out more sustain in the region.

Mohilary also promised 33 percent reservation for women in the VCDC and also a scheme for women soon in BTC. He has stressing the permanent peace and unity among different communities in the region said that his BPF administration in the council will do all round development for communities.

Governor of Assam Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya in his speech call upon the BTC members to work for all round development for the welfare of the people so that all communities can get healthy administration in their council. He has hailed all newly elected members to the council and wished a good governance in the council. He said the real meaning of achieving the BTC will happen only when development takes place. He also calls upon to check corruption and be transparent in all development aspect.      

BPF won 20 of the 40 member council Assembly following PCDR 7, AIUDF 4, BJP 1 and independents 8 in the election held on April 8.

NDFB-S cadre arrested

Security forces of  army and police apprehended a self styled section commander  and hardcore  leader of the NDFB-S from Gorebil under Bishmuri  police out post in Kokrajhar district today. Based on a specific information about presence of the militants in the area,a joint team of army and police launched  an operation  in Gorebil village where security forces able to apprehend the self styled section of commander of Jharbari section of the NDFB-S  from Gorebil in Kokrajhar. Bodoland varsity week kicks off

A six day varsity week of Bodoland University, which has kicked off from Thursday in the presence of student, departmental heads and officials at university complex in Kokrajhar. Prof.  Hemanta Kumar Baruah, Vice-Chancellore of Bodoland University inaugurated the annual varsity week. BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary graced the week as chief guest on the inaugural session. Two jehadis arrested

Police apprehended two Muslim Fundamentalist cadres from Gossaigaon and Guwahati in two separate search operations on Monday night.  According to BTAD (IGP) LR Bishnoi, Chirang, Kokrajhar and City police jointly conducted search operation against Muslim fundamentalist and able to arrest two cadres from Gossaigaon of Kokrajhar district and Guwahati.  They were identified as Jahidul Islam of Tulsibil and Pota Miyan of Tulsibil of Kokrajhar district.  A factory made pistol, two round bullets were recovered from them.   

Junior Archery championship concluded

Kokrajhar district team spotted first with won 9 gold medals in the  All Assam Inter District Junior Archery Championship,2015,concluded  today after two-day programme scheduled at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar. Daizy Basumatary crowned Miss Haina

Daizy Basumatary crowned Miss Haina with winning in the Bodoland Fashion Hunt Miss Haina, 2016. This is the first ever in Bodoland as well Lower Assam region, has been organized by Nexus Entertainment at Bodofa Cultural complex on Sunday in Kokrajhar. She was awarded cash Rs. 25,000 along with crown and citation. ABSU hails Gogoi's announcement

The Bodo sahitya sabha has slammed the Assam sahitya sabha for it's insincerity remarks on Bodo sahitya sabha on language policy adoption in the state.  Speaking the reporters today at RNB Bhawan in Kokrajhar, Dr Kameswar Brahma, president and Kamala Kanta Mushahary, general secretary of the Bodo sahitya sabha said that the Bodo sabha was not stand against of any language in the state.
