The 3rd BTC election was started from 8 am this morning and voters are coming out to franchise in a excitment  to the 40 members Assembly in four districts of the council.

Long queues at the polling centres are seeing since morning in the four districts of the council.

Altogether 316 candidates from various party and organisations including BPF,BJP,Congress,AGP and independent candidates back by organisations are in fray fo the council.

BPF, BJP, Congress have been participated the election putting in all 40 seats in the election and expected good results.

Manoj Kumar Brahma,BJP candidate to the Banargaon constituency caste his vote at Sikargaon LP school centre in early morning in Kokrajhar.

BTC chief and BPF president Hagrama Mohilary franchised his vote at Debargaon HS school, BPPF ptresident Rabiram Narzary caste his vote at Uttamchen ME School centre,BPf candidate for Banargaon seat Rajiv Brahma vote at Bhalukmari LP school centre.

Mohilary has claimed that his party is winning 0ver 30 seats and council formation is sure as peoples are supporting his aprty.

Rabiram Narzary,BPPF leader and PCDR candidate to The Banargaon seat said that this time PCDR is winning in large number of seats and council would be formed by PCDR.

Manoj Kumar Brahma, BJP candidate to the Banargaon constituency said that his party is getting huge votes and winning the election council will be formed his party.He said that BJP has put 40 candidates in all constituencies of the council.He said that BJP party is making land slide victory in the council as peoples are coming out to vote in free and fair manner since early morning.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
