IED on railway track

Thousands of people travelling on two trains had a narrow escape when security forces recovered an IED on the railway tracks in Goalpara district on Friday.

The powerful IED was recovered just fifteen minutes before a passenger train was scheduled to cross the spot.

Security forces had a routine check on the railway track just a few km away from Dudhnoi where they spotted a suspicious packet where the IED was planted.

N outfit has so far claimed the responsibility. Both ULFA and NDFB-S have been remaining active in the area.
