Bodo sabha in Guwahati

The 54th annual convention of the Bodo sahitya sabha began with two day programmes at Bathoupuri ground in Guwahati. 

Noted writer and retired director of institute of Anundoram Borooah language, arts and cultural Dr. Prafullo Mahanta inaugurated the seminar on the topic of problems of indigenous people and their future, chaired by Pinuel Basumatary, retired director of FCI (NE) and addressed by Dipak Kumar Basumatary, vice president of the Bodo sahitya sabha. Among others, Dr. Upen Rabha Hakasam, Guwahati University, Dr.Basanta Kumar Doley, ex president of mising sahitya sabha, Promod Boro, president of ABSU, Dr. Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya, adviser of ABSU were attended the seminar and addressed about facing of crisis of indigenous people's in the state. 

Tomorrow, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will inaugurate the open session, Prof. Hemanta Kumar Baruah, vice chancellor of Bodoland University will grace as chief grace and Union minister for tribal affairs Juel Oram as special guest on the session.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. He was identified as Tamizaddin Anza ri (32) of Mozabari area. He was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital and stated to be critical. Details is awaited. 
Salakati police in Kokrajhar district arrested a vehicular thief late last night at Salakati rail track.  He was identified as Naba Das of Belsar in Nalbari district, who was involved with stealing of a four wheeler Mahindra pick up van bearing registration AS-16C-2207. In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
