“The tournament will be for approximately 80 golfers and participation of a few nationally and internationally reputed golfers is on the card,” according to V.S. The Technical session will not only provide a platform to share, discuss and deliberate on the sector in discussion but it will greatly help to shed light in the unexplored areas of the North East.

It is worth mentioning that under the initiative of Assam CM Tarun Gogoi, to promote entrepreneurship, value-addition and international trade in Assam, the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Assam, in association with the Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) is also organizing the 1st “Assam International Trade and Industrial Fair-2015” from 19th -25th February, 2015 in Jorhat, Assam.

Jorhat is the 2nd largest urban centre of Assam rapidly developing to become a major business and commercial hub of North EastIndia. Jorhat also serves as the base for tourism to the Kaziranga National Park and the world's largest river island Majuli.

Centrally located and being closer to oil fields and the legacy of tea estates, the town depicts a vibrant Assamese township and culture, making it one of the most preferred places for people to conglomerate. The town is well equipped with an airport, rail connectivity and adequate accommodation for international participants and other dignitaries.

As a gateway to North East, Assam serves a population of 40 million Indians and with potential neighbours like Bangladesh and Myanmar having over 70 Million population, we are sure Assam means an important business centre.

Strategically, North East India is the gateway to South East Asia as it shares 98% of its international border and could potentially connect virgin markets to propel new waves of consumerism,” added Joshi. Concurrent to exhibitions, the fair will provide speaking opportunities in Technical Sessions, participate in training programmes for youth and women, and create brand awareness and supportthe initiative through ‘Partner Options' stalls and pavilions.
