Upper Assam bandh partial
Normal life in parts of a Tinsukia, Dibrugarh districts partially stands paralyzed following the 36 hour upper Assam bandhs which begins today.
The All Assam Motock Yuva Chattra Parishad is giving the 36 hour bandh from Friday morning outlining a slew of demands. Vehicles, mostly, are off from the roads. Businessmen, in the Muttock dominated areas of the two districts have down their shutters.
The bandh began from 6 in the morning on Friday to open at 6 on Sunday evening.
Talking to Assam Times, senior leaders of the organization said that they want big dams construction to be stopped. Secondly they reiterate ST status for the Muttocks. In third, they demand proper preservation of Sarbananda Singha’s paintings and other important memorable items.
Further, they want the unauthorized establishments to be evicted from the plot which belongs to Mottock king Sarbananda.
Apart from these, they demand a government holiday on May 25 to make the death anniversary of the Mottock king Sarbananda Singha died
