Media workshop in Kokrajhar

A media workshop stressed strengthening of immunization for a better future. Organized by the Assam UNICEF section at BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar jointly with department of health and family welfare and National Health Mission (NHM), on Saturday, the workshop tried to provide media with technical knowledge about all aspects of immunization; Over 50 media persons and health workers from Kokrajhar and neighboring districts like Chirang, Baksa, Dhubri and Bongaigaon participated in the day long workshop. BTC Joint Secretary Dinesh Boro in his keynote address, said the media can play a critical role in creating an informed discourse on the beneficial health aspects of routine immunization and the new pentavalent vaccine. He said responsible reporting can help in engaging the community to inform and educate about immunization.  A link man of NDFB-Songbijit faction was arrested by security forces belonging to police and army from Saraibil under Gossaigaon police station on Thursday in Kokrajhar district.  Getting input about working of link man in the area, a joint team of security forces launched operation and managed to arrest the link man.
