Nagaland youths roughed up in Gurgaon

Incidents of racist attack on the north east people refuse to die down. Goons in Gurgaon assaulted two youths from Nagaland on Thursday a day after a Manipur student was beaten up by local youths in Bangore.

The fresh incident took place at Gurgaon where over ten local goons caught Awang and Chester in Sikanderpur area and mercilessly beat up with cricket bats and hockey sticks.

According to the complaint, a few youths took them to a nearby market at around 1 midnight to be beaten up. Their hairs were cut off and asked them to leave the area along with their friends. Later the duo were rushed to a nearby Civil Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment.

Guwahati: The Guwahati police claimed to have arrested Deepjyoti Gogoi from Sivasagar charging him maligning the image of the government by sharing a fake page of display where CM Sarbananda Sonowal was shown to have appealed to the people to donate for the Flood Victims. Guwahati: A local court in Guwahati on Tuesday jailed a student a day after the Sivasagar police arrested him for making "objectionable" remarks against the government in social media which has gone viral. Identified as Deepjyoti Gogoi, a police team led by SP Amitabh Sinha picked up the Gauhati University student and rushed him to Guwahati where CID criminal branch arrested him under a few Sections. Then he was produced before a local court in the afternoon which sent him to the Guwahati Central Jail. Gogoi was under the scanner after he took lead in a number of anti CAA protests in the city last year.  Very recently he recited a poem in YouTube against the government...

Guwahati: After 20 days of Lockdown to keep COVID19 at bay,  the authorities in the city of Guwahati are beginning to unlock phase I from Monday. A Bengaluru based healthcare company ITIE Knowledge Solutions has launched a portable digital X ray machine, in a joint venture with a South Korean company called HDT. Tinsukia: A relief camp inmate in Baghjan area allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday sending shock and anger across the state. The incident took place after the inmate has been remaining upset over nonreceipt of compensation from the authorities since the gas well inferno reduced his houses and properties to ashes. PEN Delhi expresses its deep concern at the intimidation that Patricia Mukhim, editor of The Shillong Times, is being subjected to for her opposition to the violence against non-tribals in Meghalaya.  A complaint has been filed by Lawsohtun Dorbar Shnong, the traditional local body, with the Shillong police, against Mukhim, charging her with defaming the Khasi community and creating communal enmity between communities.
