14 militants surrender in Diphu

Fourteen militants belonging to three separate outfits, on Wednesday surrendered before Diphu police on Wednesday. They further deposited a huge cache of arms and ammunition before Karbi Anglong Superintendent of Police M J Mahanta. These include seven from United Peoples' Liberation Front (UPLF), four from Karbi National Liberation Army (KNLA) and three of the Karbi Peoples' Liberation Tigers (KPLT). The surrendered UPLF militants have been identified as Naisring Parbosa, Anep Langthasa, Tushi Bodo, Manik Haflongbar, Suhit Nabensa, Rohito Kemprai and Bidyut Langthasa and they deposited a M21 Chinesemade rifle, a SBBL gun, a Germany-made 9 MM pistol and two Chinese hand grenades. The KNLA militants have been identified as Songja Tokbi, Kensing Ronghang, Arun Engti and Kamsing Rongpi and they deposited a AK-47 rifle, two magazines of AK-47 rifle, a broken magazine of AK-47 rifle, 29 rounds of ammunition, a 9 mm pistol, seven rounds of 9 mm ammunition, 13 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and six live rounds of 12 bore cartridge. The surrendered militants from KPLT include Probhat Singnar, Rajib Singnar and Francis Terang and they deposited a Chinese hand grenade.
