Displeasure over fund allotment to BTC council

The Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) expressed displeasure over low fund allotment to the council from state share budgets as the council has been deprived from getting 12.19 percent as per population ratio.

The council passed amounting of Rs 201668.55 lakhs(both plan and non-plan) for the year 2014-2015 in the council budget session which was concluded today with two day scheduled.

BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary said that the council is getting only 4 percent from state share budget since after the inception of council.He said that state government is discriminating the council of which why council is facing several hardhsips while implementing developmental projects as well fulfilments of aspirations in the region.

He said that council have four districts with several programme in reference to other councils in its activity that is why more fund and schemes are much required to sustain more developments in the region.

He has also emphasized of the direct funding to the council as to meet speedy development of the council and held peace and unity among all sections of community.

‘If direct funding comes to the council,development and implementations of the scheme and programmes will be made faster in the region’,Borgoyary said.

During the session MCLAs from ruling BPF Rahindra Brahma,Kartick Chandra Brahma raised questions of enhencement salaries of members and exective members in the council saying that prices of essential commodities are going increase in present day life.They demanded discuss on the salary hike on the general discss on the budget.

The budget stressing on road communication, education, health and agriculture passed the budget includes Rs 194972.02 lakhs(Plan) and Rs 6696.53 lakhs(Non-Plan),allocating-Education department Rs 3645.00 lakhs, Panchayat & Rural development Rs 4910.00 lakhs, Agriculture Rs. 1810.00 lakhs,  Public works department Rs 5685.85 lakhs, Welfare of Plain Tribes & Backward classes Rs 8958.15 lakhs, Health & family Welfare Rs 1715.87 lakhs.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday.
