As many as sixteen people have been injured while a powerful bomb exploded in Tinsukia town at around 1 pm on Saturday. According to information, the blast took place at the busy GNB Road in front of a grocery. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. High level police and civil officials have arrived in the spot to start operation. Meanwhile, one more crude bomb have been recovered just before a while. Details are awaited.

Sensation prevails on the busy Guwahati-Shillong road following bomb scare that forces senior police and civil officials to rush to Ganeshguri. According to eyewitness, two doubtful youths were seen trying to plant a bomb under the Ganeshguri Flyover but managed to flee as soon as they saw policemen on the spot. Security forces cordoned off the entire spot and carried out a search operation nearly half an hour. No one has so far been arrested.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has alleged a nefarious KMSS-Maoist nexus to monger more trouble in the state. Finally, police have arrested KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi in connection with the Dispur police firing on Wednesday. Gogoi was picked up by police from his Nizorapara based residence an hour before a press conference he was scheduled to addressed.
