Finally, police have arrested KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi in connection with the Dispur police firing on Wednesday. Gogoi was picked up by police from his Nizorapara based residence an hour before a press conference he was scheduled to addressed.
Police on Thursday lodged complaint against Gogoi and his associates charging them with damaging properties worth crores of rupees and fomenting trouble where 4 persons were killed around 35 including 15 police men have been injured. A section of KMSS protesters set on fire three police vehicles and 5 ASTC owned passenger buses.
