NDFB(P) threatens to pull out of the peace process
NDFB’s pro talks faction threatens to pull out of the peace process if the Centre fails to halt operation against their cadres. In a press statement sent to media on Saturday, the outfit’s assistant secretary B. Khwlw Khwlw alleged that peace process and crackdown can’t go together. He said for the last several years, they have lost many cadres in the name of encounters by the security forces. The alleged that the peace process was merely a trap. He further charged the Assam government with trying derail the peace process. “Our General Secretary N. Dinthigwra was killed cold blooded along with his body guard B. Bwhwitha after he was caught from the house he was taking shelter and undergoing treatment. There was no encounter as claimed by the security personnel. There was not a single shot fired from him and his body guard despite they were first fired by the security personnel. He was not in state of resistance as he was weak and frail due to sickness and had surrendered before the security forces,” he said.
