Gogoi faces wrath; effigy burnt

JINTUL TALUKDAR, BARPETA: Minority students are angry with the chief minister Tarun Gogoi who dropped border development minister Siddique Ahmed on Tuesday.

Hundreds of the students hailing from the minority communities on Wednesday burnt the effigy of Tarun Gogoi at Kalgasia in Barpeta district for Siddique’s exclusion.

Talking to Assam, the protestors said that Gogoi has insulted the minority communities by replacing Ahmed who has been making no less contribution for the uplift of the communities.

They further threaten to launch statewide agitation against Tarun Gogoi anti-minority policies.
