Gogoi vs Siddique

Its Tarun Gogoi versus Siddique Ahmed. Amid simmering dissidence against the chief minister and his minister for border area development are taking on each other.

Gogoi on Friday alleged that the minister helped AIUDF candidate in the recent Lok Sabha polls which was why, party candidate Lalit Mohan Suklavaidya faced defeat in Karimganj. Hours after the allegations Siddique dared Gogoi to substantiate his allegations of nexus with AIUDF.

The chief minister further hinted strict action against Siddique as situation warrants. The cooperation minister said that he was ready to face any action.

Gogoi got tougher with Siddique a day before quoting him as saying of media reported that the dissident camp could boycott the upcoming assembly session if Gogoi is not replaced as chief minister.

But on Friday he said that he had not told the media anything like that. He further was reported to have told that the dissident camps led by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma would stage dharna before AICC vice president demanding Gogoi’s removal immediately.
