Tudu to submit resignation

Chrisostom Tudu,BTC Executive Member from Congress in the council will tender his resignation to BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary on Monday after party high command directed to resign him from the post follwing the resignation of Transport Minister Chandan Brahma from the Ministry.

Tudu, executive member for Information and Public Relation and Library Services department in the Council ‘talking exclusively’ to Assam Times said that he would submit his resignation letter to Mohilary on Monday by 11 am as the party high command asked him to step down from his post after the Bodoland People’s Front broke down the eight-year alliance with the Congress.

Tudu was inducted as executive member in the Council on July 12 in 2013 in place of Santius Kujur, who was nominated as the Rajya Sabha MP in last year.Tudu was elected to BTCLA from Srirampur constituency on Congress ticket.

There are 39 elected members out of 40 member house,of which one constituency is lying vacancy after Kujur nominated as Rajya Sabah MP including BPF 33, Congress four, BPPF and UDPF one each respectively in the council.

 Chandan Brahma and two Parliamenatry Secretaries Rakeswar Brahma and Maneswar Brahma and Chairman of Ware Housing Corporation Board Rihan Daimary submitted their resignations on Friday after the central committee of the BPF party decided to break the alliance with Congress alleging Dispur’s failure to provide security to the people of BTAD and indifferent attitude towards the BTC administration.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid foundation stones of Directorate of the Economic & Statistics and Directorate of Labour & Employment office at Baghichagaon, Kokrajhar  on Wednesday.  The Economic & Statistics office would be constructed at a cost of one crore under 2016-17 financial year while the Labour & Employment office building would be constructed amounting of 1.42 crores under 2016-17 BTC financial year.  BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, former minister and MLA Chandan Brahma, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Ganesh Kochary were among others present on the function.

Security forces belonging to Police, Army and CRPF apprehended a link man of the NDFB-S in a joint operation at Shantipur area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district today.
