Kokrajhar boy gets 3rd position

Anarjithom Roy of Kokrajhar BPCM Babyland School has secured third spot sharing with other two students in the HSLC examination, result declared today scoring 579 marks out of 600(97%) and brought a happy educational scenario in the heart town of BTAD. The student and guardians of the school celebrated joyous at the school and wished for happy successful.

Roy, son of Baskarjyoti Roy, a resident of Santinagar Bank Colony in Kokrajhar town brings the limelight result for school in Kokrajhar district scoring all letter marks in all subjects.

Rina Majumdar, Principal of the school has congratulated to Roy and wished for his bright successful.

The four districts of BTAD including Kokrajhar have made 51.87%, Chirang 29.79%; Baksa 59.24% and Udalguri 44.76% passed percentages respectively in the final examinations.

 Two students scored 93 out of 100 marks in Bodo(MIL)-Klinton Boro(Baksa) and Arup Swargiary(Chirang).

Derhasat Basumatary, BTC executive member for Education department congratulated to all passed out students in the BTAD region and wished for good educational situation in the region in coming days.

Rabisangkhar Borgoyary, BTC education director told that there are 21,402 students passed out the examination out of 43,998 appeared students, including 2,414 in first division, 7,192 in second and 11,716 in third divisions in the final examination from four districts.

The Private managed schools in Kokrajhar and Chirang district made bright results then government schools, including the UN Academy, Kokrajhar 98.14%, the BPCM Babyland school 97.29% and the Gyanpuri Rupamani Bathow School has scored 80% respectively.

Car lifters brought to Kokrajhar

Police have busted a notorious gang of car lifters when three thieves were nabbed in Karbi Anglong districts. Identified as Chemau Kumar Singh,Puyana Nila Kumar and Pangam Pamau Maikel Singh, they were brought to Kokrajhar a day after being captured along with a stolen Bolero from Khotkhoti area near Dimapur on Saturday. The trio had stolen the vehicle bearing registration No AS-16A-4624 from Hatimata area in Kokrajhar on November 25 which belongs to Robin Basumatary. Police investigation started after the owner lodged the FIR with Kokrajhar police and four days after it, Katkoti caught the thieves and recovered the vehicle on Saturday. 

Rajdhani express stranded

Several long-distance trains including Rajdhani express (down 12423) bound for New Delhi stranded over five-hours at Kokrajhar railway station following rail roko agitation at Kamakhyaguri railway station, West Bengal by Merchants on Saturday. The Rajdhani express reached Kokrajhar station  by 9.45 am and halted till 3.15pm due to rail roko, Sampark Kranti express (down) stranded at Fakiragram railway station in Kokrajhar district.

Bodo Sabha stages dharna in Delhi

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha staged mass dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday reiterating their demands. Hundreds of activists from BSS, ABSU, ABWWF, ABPTU, DBHA participated in the dharna raising banners, placards and shouted slogans demanding  early measures to fulfil their demands. Then they submitted a memo to Prime Minister demanding creation of separate directorate for Bodo language, implementation of Bodo as an official language in the BTAD areas as per the Bodo Accord, 2003. Kokrajhar girl rescued in Siliguri

She is Renuka Hembrom. The teen aged girl was missing from July. But she is back to home. Courtesy Nedan Foundation. The Kokrajhar-based non government organization managed to rescue Renuka on Monday. That too from Siliguri.  She went missing in July when a women from West Bengal lured her a job. Renuka told Assam Times that the Santhali lady took her to Siliguri from Laltola bordering Srirampur.She was last seen on July 24 at Srirampur area. Kokrajhar: 7 detained in kidnap case

 The Kokrajhar police interrogated seven persons a day after miscreants kidnapped Kartick Paul from Saralapra on Sunday. All the seven persons are residents of Saralpara area in Bismuri who are being interrogated in this connection. Security forces are concentrating search operations in the jungle areas of Saralpara along the Indo-Bhutan international border area.

National Handloom Expo at Kokrajhar

No breakthrough on trucker killers
