Counting of votes in Kokrajhar
The counting of parliamentary election result for No. 5 Kokrajhar HPC begins from 8 am today with security vigil arrangements in the district to stop unwanted incidents. However, the district administration relaxed indefinite curfew for 13-hours from 5 am to 6 pm during the counting of result on Friday.
Six candidates from various party and Independents contested the Kokrajhar HPC including Chandan Brahma(BPF), Ranjit Sekhar Moopshahary(TMC),Urkhao Gwra Brahma(Ind),Sansuma Khunguur Bwiswmuthiary(Ind),Naba Kumar Sarania(Ind) and Sabdharam Rabha(Ind) and peoples mandate will give clear picture after declaration of result.
A tight security arrangement has been made in the district, of which why 11 more companies from CRPF and BSF have reached in the district and they were deployed in the sensitive areas to guard the situation, said Sunil Kumar, Kokrajhar SP.
