Dr MMS is the MP from Assam and he should take the moral responsibilty for the violence. The UPA and state government who had been ruling for the last 10 years must be blamed for such butchery. But Congress sees only shadow of Modi on anything. The Congress leaders leaders who used to revel in the luxury and comforts in Delhi offices were always apathetic towards the violence in Kashmir and Punjab during the 1970's and 1980's. The secular leaders were more philosohical and much less practical in understanding the problems of people in all parts of the country. There was similar violence in 2012 in NE. Then the government should have take precautionary measures to avert the occurance of similar incidents. When there is NO capable ruler or leader at the centre, the state governments will also follow the anarchy. "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" means "AS THE RULER SO THE RULED". If the king of the country is of good character, with good heart and always thinking of well-being of his subjects, and if he is a spiritual thinker and peaceful minded, his subjects will be like him in all these ways too

Women narratives in the north eastern region, particularly in Assam have been successful in depicting the contemporary socio-economic problems confronting the region for the last few decades. Prolific women writers at a discussion on women narratives at the second day of the Guwahati Lit Fest on Sunday focused some other universal problems of the region which they claimed to have given due importance in their writings and novels. But they agreed that they have yet to explore many issues. Mention they made of is the Nellie massacre of during the Assam Movement which did not confined to a few news papers and magazines. NDFB has expelled one of its leaders from the outfit alleging violation of the Constitution. Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Saturday asked field commanders in Assam to firmly deal with NDFB-S militants who killed at least 75 people in Kokrajahr and Sonitpur districts on Tuesday. General Suhag reviewed the deployment of army in the combing operation against the militant outfit and asked them to go all out against NDFB-S. In a series of meeting with his field commanders, the army boss reviewed the current status of operations and various measures taken to improve the security scenario in the state. Noted litterateurs on Saturday outlined the scopes available for giving the folktales a fresh of life when they held an illuminating discussion at the Guwahati Lit Fest on Saturday.Moderated by folklore expert and former Asom Sahitya Sabha president Dr Birendra Nath Dutta, the experts said that the folk tales need to be dressed afresh in view of the emerging trends in the various spheres of life with in the light of the myth and society.Participating in the discussion, Neelesh Misra, Kynpham Sing Nongkynrih and Imran Hussain dwelt at length the various aspects of the myth, society and story telling.
The emerging trends in fiction came up for a livelier discussion at a session of the Guwahati Lit Fest in the city on Saturday.Chaired by Jerry Pinto, the session dwelt at length the new trends that attract the readers in the north eastern region. The experts including Pahnindra Kumar Dev Chaudhury, Ankush Saikia, Janice Pariat, Anjali Joseph and Pankaj Govinda Medhi agreed that the emerging trend has several aspects to be dealt with.
