BK Handique files nomination

Jorhat Congress candidate Bijoy Krishna Handique filed his nomination papers on Wednesday.

Flanked by senior party leaders, the fourth time MP filed his nomination before the returning officer at 11-30 in the morning.

Earlier, Congress workers took Handique to the DC office premises in Jorhat with a procession.

The article has incorrect information on Mr. Handique, he is a 6 time Lok Sabha MP from Jorhat.

Shameful: police recruitment test cancelled

Guwahati: In a bizzer incident that forces the BJP government to hang it's head in shame,  the state police recruitment board for selection of Sub Inspector has cancelled the statewide written test midway citing leakage of question papers on Sunday. According to information, the examination which began at 12 noon was suddenly cancelled at 1 PM across the state as soon as the question papers went viral through social media. Peasant body wants to be with AJP

Guwahati: An united regional force against BJP seems to be a distant dream since AJP has little chance to be with KMSS to fight the 2021 assembly polls. Peasant leader Bhaskar D Saikia has urged AJP conveners to take KMSS on board adding that they would wait till September 20 for the response. “We will wait till September 20. Congress pins hopes on NYAY to woo voters

Guwahati: State Congress president Ripun Bora says if the party comes to power it would implement NYAY scheme where BPL families will receive Rs 7500 in a month. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Saturday, Bora NYAY will challenge Aronodoy scheme, which the government launched recently promising Rs 830 in a month to 17 lakh poor families.       Bora further said that the BJP-led government announced a slew of schemes despite bad financial condition just to woo the voters for 2021 assembly polls.
