Tractors distributed in Kokrajhar
Kokrajhar: BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary distributed tractors among beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Samagra Gramya Unnaya Yojana at a ceremonial function held at BTC Secretariat ground in Kokrajhar today in presence of Assam minister Pramila Rani Brahma and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary.
A total 1500 revenue villages from four BTAD districts are getting tractors under the under Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana, 2017-18, which was started from Kokrajhar with ceremonially distribution. On ceremonially distribution programme, 15 self help groups were given away tractors. The tractors are being distributed from BTC Agriculture department to generate double cropping as well incomes among farmers in the region and were given away subsidy way from the state government.
Mohilary urged the beneficiaries as well farmers to make double cropping to make more products of crops.
BTC director for Agriculture MM Swargiary told that the tractors are distributed among revenue villages in BTAD region and today ceremonially distributed. He said that the scheme will cover 2872 villages in BTAD region in phase wise in coming days.
Among others,BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary,BTC executive member Ansumwi Khunggur Boro,Deputy Commissioner Niranjan Baruah were prominent attendees on the occasion.
Meanwhile,BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary inaugurated the constructed office building of central selection board(CSB) near Kokrajhar Head Post Office.The building was constructed under BTAD GAD department with amounting of Rs.3.60 crores.

A cadre of NDFB(Songbijit faction) was apprehended by security forces beloinging to police and army from Gossaigaon Tinali yesterday night in a joint search operation in Kokrajhar district.He was identified as Swrang Narzary of Kathalguri Bishmuri,was involved with various cases of extortion,kidnapping and providing logistic supports to the militant outfit organisation.A pistol,two round live bullets were recovered from him.
At least nine women were apprehended by female constable of SSB of 16th battalion(Bn) for involved in the smuggling who were trying to evade the international border,besides seized illicit Bhutanese liquor of Rs 19,665 from Dadgiri and Dholkola in Chirang district on Monday. Ashinta Basunatary's body, a college student, who went missing was recovered from Badrampur jungle, on the other hand a man was brutally killed by unidentified miscreants at Padmabil area under Serfanguri PS in Kokrajhar district today. Ashinta Basumatary was allegedly missing from his East Maligaon village since April 22 and his body was recovered from deep jungle nearby Badrampur village after arrested involved persons confessed about situation. Security forces apprehended a link man/over ground worker of NDFB-S militant outfit from Guruphela area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar on Saturday. Based on an input about presence of militant outfit link men in the area, a joint team of police and army raided and able to apprehend the link man along with cash. He was identified as Dipak Goyary of Takampur No.2. Cash 50,000 recovered from him, was involved with extortion and new cadre recruitment.
